The Legacy of Clear Creek Golf Club

Clear Creek Golf Club has been a fixture of the south Houston golf scene since it opened in 1987–88, when noted designers Joe Finger, Ken Dye, and Baxter Spann laid out an 18-hole, par-72 course inspired by the rolling, wind-swept character of Scottish links golf. Set against the mature tree lines of Tom Bass Park and woven around water on several holes, the course was built to reward strategic shot-making while remaining approachable for golfers of every skill level. Over the decades, Clear Creek has earned a reputation as one of the best-conditioned public courses in the region, prized for its accessible location near downtown Houston, the Texas Medical Center, and the Galleria. Now part of the Arcis Golf family, Clear Creek continues to carry forward the same laid-back, welcoming spirit it was founded on — pairing genuinely friendly service with a golf experience that keeps players, leagues, and tournament groups coming back year after year.

Clear Creek’s 18-hole, par-72 links-style course stretches over approximately 6,768–6,917 yards from the back tees and combines water hazards, tree-lined fairways, and well-conditioned greens to create a pleasant yet challenging test of golf. Designed with players of all abilities in mind, the course offers strategic variety while delivering consistent enjoyment and value.

I've been a member at Clear Creek for years and it remains one of my favorite courses in all of South Houston. The Scottish links-style design keeps every round fresh and engaging, and the staff has always been welcoming and genuinely passionate about the game. It's a course with real character and a community that keeps you coming back.
