The Legacy of Gentle Creek Country Club

Gentle Creek Country Club has stood as the anchor of Prosper, Texas since the community's earliest days, built by Harvey K. Huie, Jr., a Dallas-area developer who envisioned something more than a subdivision with a golf course attached — he wanted a true country club at the heart of an upscale residential community. From that founding vision, Gentle Creek Estates grew up around the club, and the two have remained inseparable ever since: a neighborhood defined by its clubhouse as much as its architecture. In 2021, Arcis Golf acquired the club, bringing the resources and hospitality standards of a national private-club portfolio to a property that had already spent two decades building its reputation in North Texas, while preserving the close-knit, family-first character that has always set Gentle Creek apart from the newer clubs springing up around it.

A Timeless Texas Clubhouse, Reimagined

In November 2023, Gentle Creek completed a multi-million-dollar transformation under Arcis Golf ownership, reimagining the clubhouse with a classic Texan design inspired by the region's ranching heritage — built on the existing stone-and-wood exterior, with rustic trusses, herringbone floors, and an open, emerald-tiled show kitchen anchoring the new dining room. The renovation also brought a state-of-the-art fitness center, refreshed men's and women's locker rooms, and an elevated pro shop stocked with premium lifestyle brands, rounding out a full reinvestment in the member experience.

The 18-hole D.A. Weibring championship layout winds through 235 acres of rolling terrain, stretching over 7,300 yards with a signature par-3 framed by waterfalls and rock. Having hosted multiple PGA Tour and USGA qualifiers, Gentle Creek delivers a competitive stage worthy of serious golfers and memorable club events alike.
