Club Dress Code

  • On the golf course, collared shirts are required; men’s shirts must have collars, and women’s tops should either have a collar or sleeves.
  • Bottoms should be “golf-appropriate”: slacks or Bermuda-style shorts for men, golf skirts/shorts or slacks for women.

  • Prohibited items on the course: denim (of any kind), T-shirts, tank tops, gym shorts, short shorts, cut-offs, and swimwear.
  • Footwear: soft-spike golf shoes (or other approved shoes) only; no aggressive tread, no metal spikes.
  • In general social areas: shirts and footwear must be worn at all times.
  • Note: While golf areas are more restrictive, the club rules permit denim in the clubhouse.

Pace of Play

Your Position On The Course

  • Ancala Country Club expects an 18-hole round to be completed in no more than 4 hours.
  • Members should maintain their “position on the course directly behind the group in front of you” – not too far ahead, not too far behind.
  • If a group is out of position or causing delays, Player Assistants will step in: first with a friendly reminder, then possibly serving as a forecaddie, or offering options to adjust the round (skip holes, restart, or take a rain check) to regain proper pace.
  • Helpful pace-of-play tips (from the club): arrive early, pick the right tee box, play “ready golf” when safe, plan your shots in advance, limit time searching for balls, and finish short putts rather than marking.

In the event that a group is out of position or causing undue delay, our Player Assistants will:

  1. Provide an initial friendly reminder and a specific expectation for the group to regain position.
  2. Act as a forecaddie to assist groups in regaining position.
  3. If a group is unable to regain position, the Player Assistant will provide that group with options to move back into position, such as skipping shots / holes, rain check, or restarting their round behind the last group.
