Local Boys & Girls Clubs Participate in Learn-to-Play Clinic
WESTON, Fla. (Feb. 25, 2026) — The Florida A&M University Division I men, North Carolina A&T University women, and Miles College Division II men took home the team titles at the third annual Arcis-HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) Golf Championship. The 54-hole team tournament ran Saturday to Monday and featured 17 men’s and women’s teams comprising a 95-player field.
The three-day golf and networking event was held at The Club at Weston Hills—which is owned and operated by Arcis Golf—and contested on The Players Course, one of two magnificent, 18-hole golf courses created by world-renowned designer Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
In the individual competition, the men’s Division I winner was Florida A&M’s Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul, who prevailed on the first playoff hole against North Carolina Central’s Mateo Zolezzi. The women's winner was North Carolina A&T’s Ekaterina Prokhorova, who successfully defended her title from 2025. The men's Division II individual crown went to Miles College’s Adrian Raya, who defeated teammate Braydon Moye and Godfrey Nsubuga of Winston-Salem State on the third playoff hole.
The team competitions all were tightly contested: Men’s Division I defending champion Florida A&M was two strokes better than Alabama State; the North Carolina A&T women won by four strokes over defending champion Howard University; and Miles triumphed by four strokes over Winston-Salem State in Division II men’s.

Throughout the weekend, time was allocated for networking and social interactions among the athletes, coaches, and corporate representatives. One of the featured events was the HBCU Alumni and Divine Nine Challenge, with college alumni, members of black sororities and fraternities, sports, and entertainment celebrities participating in golf and social events. A career session was also held, helping open doors for off- course opportunities for the athletes.
On Saturday, Arcis Golf staged a “Club-in-Hand Golf Clinic” for first-time golfers from the Rita & Rick Case Boys & Girls Club of Broward County. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of driving, chipping, and putting led by three PGA professionals from the South Florida PGA Section.
Beyond the three-day championship, Arcis Golf—the second largest owner and operator of 88 private, resort, and daily fee golf facilities in the United States—provides ongoing opportunities for HBCU golfers to practice and hone their skills at clubs across the country. This ensures HBCU student-athletes have dedicated places to practice and play beyond the tournament schedule and/or their collegiate home courses.
The Arcis-HBCU Golf Championship is one of the numerous ways Arcis Golf supports national philanthropic organizations. It also provides key support for Els for Autism Foundation, United States Adaptive Golf Alliance, Love Hope Strength Foundation, and Women In Golf Foundation, as well as many local charities in the communities it serves.
