An innovative, three-in-one golf course will be the star attraction on Saturday, June 24 when Hunt Valley Country Club, an Arcis Golf property in the scenic Maryland countryside, unveils its newly renovated course, The Ridge 9.
Part of the transformation of Hunt Valley CC—which has undergone a $2.5-million revitalization of the entire property — The Ridge 9 offers nine holes of golf, along with 18 holes of two other games designed to be played on a traditional golf course: Disc golf and Footgolf. Together, the three-in-one Ridge 9 offers a family-friendly environment that positions Hunt Valley as the most innovative golf club in the region.
The Ridge 9 debut will showcase the variety of “swing, sling and kick” sport activities the course now offers. This day-long event is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes a tee shot accuracy contest for golfers, Disc golf, and Footgolfers; a “dart game” Footgolf station; regulation Disc golf holes; a speed-golf contest for all three games; and more on-course fun for guests to try. A complimentary barbecue lunch will also be served. RSVP for the event at www.swingslingkick.com.
“This is the only place on the East Coast where you will find a country club that has a championship golf course, plus Disc and Footgolf courses,” said Jon Vodehnal, general manager of Hunt Valley Country Club. “The upgrades to The Valley, our 18-hole championship layout, have enhanced shot values and improved playability. On The Ridge 9 we’re offering fun experiences the whole family can enjoy, no matter how they like to play.”
The Ridge 9 also allows Hunt Valley County Club the ability to host different types of private events, from birthday celebrations to corporate outings and benefit golf tournaments, which all can explore new ways to enjoy golf, and the new golf courses.
Located 22 miles north of downtown Baltimore in a family-centric community that was once known for historic horse farms, Hunt Valley Country Club remains the region’s premier golf experience. The club’s 18-hole layout –The Valley—was redesigned in 2016 by Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design. Additionally, a new practice range features two-elevated tiers with grass hitting surfaces and artificial turf. The range also was extended to accommodate a full array of clubs, benefitting golfers warming up and practicing as well as the club’s staff of PGA golf professionals and their students.
The enhancements made to Hunt Valley Country Club are part of Arcis Golf’s commitment to allocate millions of dollars in major capital improvements to its portfolio of 68 public and private facilities nationwide, an indication of the dynamic direction the Dallas-based company is taking in the golf industry.
