DALLAS, Texas June 29, 2016 — Ruffled Feathers Golf Club, an Arcis Golf property featuring Chicagoland’s only Pete Dye-designed golf course, has completed a $2 million renovation project that has dramatically transformed the property both on and off the golf course.
“This has been a true revival of the entire property,” said Victor Rodarte, general manager at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. “We now have the region’s premier golf club to host corporate and charity outings, and look forward to delivering an all-encompassing, unrivaled experience for golfers and non-golfers alike, as well as those hosting and attending charity events.”
Just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, Ruffled Feathers Golf Club has enjoyed rave reviews from golfers for revitalized, tour-quality turf conditions tee-to-green and improved sight lines throughout the unique Dye routing. Besides the elite playing surfaces, the renovation includes new sand and drainage in all of the bunkers. Additionally, a major investment in maintenance equipment will keep fairways and greens at the semi-private facility in premier condition.
“Arcis Golf has invested significantly in Ruffled Feathers to make it among the most attractive and accessible playing experience for golfers in our area,” Rodarte said.
The Ruffled Feathers clubhouse has been re-imagined inside and out. The renovation is marked by modern updates and exudes a warm, calm and inviting interior, with every nook in mind as a place of comfort and style. The exterior restoration brings to life and pays homage to its Modern Tudor architecture and character. Rodarte said early reactions from the public are outstanding as he and his staff have witnessed as many golfers as non-golfers paying visits to the clubhouse.
In addition, the clubhouse bar is an entirely new experience—a brighter, more casual environment surrounded by wall-size photo murals that depict Chicago landmarks and rich history. Copper accents are used on the exhibition-style kitchen and newly tiled bar, while decorative lighting and dark wood furnishings accent the newly updated theme. Moreover, Rodarte said the new food-and-beverage menu is earning rave reviews from customers, those long familiar with Ruffled Feathers as well as others “stopping by just because they’ve heard such positive feedback.”
Just outside the bar, the 1,000-square-foot wraparound deck provides multiple seating areas for a comfortable atmosphere, as well as great spots to watch the action on the 9th and 18th holes. “We’ve now been told on numerous occasions what a truly cool place this is to dine and relax,” Rodarte said. “Many of our regulars are bringing in their friends with them so they can experience it for themselves.”
For the golfers, the challenging, par-72 Ruffled Feathers golf course is routed along sculpted fairways, strategically placed bunkers and water that artistically shape the Pete Dye greens. The design is known for its diverse collection of par-3 holes and emphasis on consistent, high-quality playing conditions.
Arcis Golf has allocated $50 million in major capital improvements to its portfolio of 66 public and private facilities nationwide—six in Illinois—an indication of the dynamic direction the Dallas-based company is taking in the golf industry.
