Guest Experience

A Warm Welcome to Champions Retreat

From the moment you arrive, Champions Retreat replaces the ordinary with something far better. The staff greets you by name, your bag is taken care of before you ask, and the only decision left is whether to head straight to the course or settle into the speakeasy first. Every detail, from the condition of the fairways to the quality of what is on your plate, reflects a standard of hospitality that is genuinely difficult to find anywhere else in the region.

Champions Retreat has always been a special place, but what we are building here right now is something truly extraordinary. We have taken everything that made this club great and made it better, from the course conditions to the clubhouse to the practice facility, all while staying true to the Southern hospitality and golf traditions that define who we are. Whether you are visiting for the first time or have been a member for years, I can promise you this: we will make every moment here feel like it was made just for you.

To help plan your visit, here are a few helpful details

Our team is always happy to answer questions or assist with special requests. Whether you’re here for a round, a celebration, or simply good company, we look forward to making your visit exceptional.

Parking and Arrival

When you arrive, you'll be greeted at our community gate. The left-hand lane is reserved for guests. A security guard may request your Driver’s License, review the tee sheet (if applicable), and may call our Concierge to confirm your access for the day.

Guest parking is located in the lot in front of our Barn, which is on your left when you are traveling down Champions Parkway.

We recommend arriving about an hour before your tee time — a little earlier if your group is joining us for lunch beforehand. This gives you time to get settled, change, and warm up without feeling rushed.

Note: If you arrive before your member-host, check in at the front desk and let staff know you're a guest. They'll make sure you're taken care of.

Bag Drop & Check-In

Pull up to our bag drop located outside of the Golf Shop and our outside service team will take it from there — your bag will be waiting when you're ready to play. There's no need to carry clubs through the clubhouse.

Stop into the golf shop to check in for your round. Our staff will have your tee time on file under your member-host's name. It's also a great place to grab anything you may have forgotten — gloves, balls, tees, and more.

The practice range and short game area are available to guests prior to your round. Range balls are complimentary.

Dress Code

We take pride in maintaining a welcoming and polished environment throughout the club. Here's what to plan on:

  • On the course: Collared shirts (tucked in), golf slacks or tailored golf shorts. No denim, cargo shorts, or athletic wear.
  • In the clubhouse: The same standard applies. Hats and visors are to be removed in all indoor areas.
  • Dining room: Club casual attire is permitted, along with neat denim jeans and golf attire. Tucked-in collar shirts are required at all times. Cut-offs are never allowed.
  • Footwear: Soft spikes or spikeless golf shoes are required on the course. Metal spikes are not permitted.

Please change into golf shoes in the locker room rather than the parking lot — we have comfortable facilities waiting for you.

Note: When in doubt, err on the side of neat and tidy. Our team is happy to help, and the golf shop carries essentials if you need them.

Gratuity & Payments

Your member-host handles guest fees for the round, which typically include greens fees, cart or caddie fees, and food and beverage during the round. We want you to relax and enjoy the experience — not worry about the tab.

If you'd like to make a purchase in the golf shop, we accept credit cards. Food and beverage in the clubhouse can be signed to the member's account or payable by guests directly with credit card.

Gratuity is always welcome and appreciated by our team. If you'd like to show your appreciation to outside service staff, locker room attendants, caddies, or our dining team, cash is the easiest way to do so.

Caddie fees are handled separately by charging to the member's account payable by guests directly with credit card. If you have questions about customary gratuity, our golf shop team is glad to help.

Cell Phones & Photography

We ask that all guests keep their phones on silent upon arriving at Champions Retreat. Phone calls are permitted outdoors and in designated areas. We ask that phones not be used inside the golf shop, dining room, or on the driving range.

Photography on the course and around the property is welcome for personal use. We ask that photos or videos intended for publication or social media be approved in advance by our General Manager. Please feel free to tag us in all personal photos @champions_retreat on Instagram.

Locker Rooms & Clubhouse Access

Guests are welcome to use our men's and women's locker room facilities. A day locker will be available so you can store your belongings and change at your leisure.

Our clubhouse includes our Concierge Office/Locker House, Grille House, Barn, and Golf House, all of which are open to guests accompanied by their member-host. Our Fitness Center is located upstairs in the Locker House.

Smoking & Vaping

Permitted in outdoor areas only, away from dining patios and event spaces.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

Our members are passionate about this club, and we think you'll see why. A few things that help everyone have a great experience:

  • Pace of play: We take pace seriously. If a hole gets away from you, please pick up and move along — it keeps things enjoyable for everyone on the course.
  • Children: Children are welcome in all areas of the club, with adult supervision required under the age of 10. Junior golfers must be at least 10 years old to play the golf course unaccompanied.
  • Pets: Dogs and other pets (except those designated as service animals) are not permitted on or about the Club Facilities.
  • Guest frequency: No Guest may play the Golf Courses more than six (6) times per calendar year and no Guest may play the Golf Courses more than two (2) times per calendar month.

Most importantly — welcome. We hope this is the first of many visits, and we look forward to taking great care of you.
